Description

Scott is replacing their beloved Meridian series with something brand new - the Sector. The Sector brings breakthroughs in fly rod innovation to the market in more ways than one and is an incredibly durable and high performing rod. The componentry of the Sector is also state-of-the-art and insanely progressive. This rod series is one of the best we’ve ever seen from a company who’s saltwater rods have been on the top of the pile for years.

Blank

ReAct Technology - ReAct is Scott's proprietary technology for reducing vibrations and increasing recovery speed. It does this by combining their X-Core design with new materials and tapers. The result is a rod that is extremely high performing, yet retains the feel that we’ve come to expect from Scott.

Carbon Web Technology - Carbon Web Tech improves torsional stability and rod strength. Carbon Web encases the rod fibers in an extra layer of ultra-light carbon fibers that are multi-directional to improve rod stability and performance. This tech makes the new Sector one of the most durable fly rods on the market.

Guides

Ceracoil Stripping Guides - Ceracoil stripping guides are brand new and feature nickel-titanium and Zirconia inserts. These guides rebound when bent or crushed and minimize line friction for flawless performance. They’re also coated with a PVD coat for a low reflective finish and increased durability.

Titanium Snake Guides - Titanium snake guides are the most durable on the market and accommodate any fly line. These guides are also coated in a PVD finish for increased strength and a low reflective finish.

Reel Seat

Self-Indexing Anodized Aluminum - The Sector’s reel seat is made with black anodized aluminum. While not as showy as other Scott rods, anodized aluminum holds up well in all saltwater environments. A double uplocking component holds even the largest saltwater reels in place.

Rod Tube

Aluminum Rod Tube - The Sector, like all high-end rods, comes in an aluminum rod tube to protect the rod during travel and transportation. The tube is labeled with the Scott logo for easy rod identification.

Warranty

Scott Lifetime Warranty - The Sector, like all Scott fly rods, is covered by the Scott Lifetime Warranty, which covers the rod for the life of the original owner. As of July 2015, the cost of these repairs is $50 and the turnaround time is about 4 weeks. Rods must be registered within 30 days of purchase to qualify for the warranty.

  • Scott Sector Fly Rod Series Review: Model-by-Model

The Scott Meridian was a much-loved rod series. In fact, it’ll probably go down in fly fishing lore as one of the best saltwater rod series ever. When we heard Scott was DQing the Meridian, the anticipation for their new saltwater rod series began. Well, the wait is over and we’re pretty excited about the result. Enter the Scott Sector. The Sector is a refined version of the Meridian, a rod series that prioritizes presentation, accuracy, and feel. This series is characterized by a progressive rod action, brand new rod...

  • Scott Sector Fly Rod Review

Scott has announced the release of their brand new saltwater rod series, the Sector. The Sector replaces the much-loved Meridian and features some updated aesthetics and improved performance. Scott elected to keep their trademark unsanded blank design to keep the Sector lightweight and strong. The unsanded blank design may be the same but the technology is different. The Sector utilizes ReAct Tech (which we've seen in the past from Scott), and new Carbon Web Tech. Carbon Web improves torsional forces for better tracking and more pure power. This rod features...

Scott Sector 846/4

"Absolutely phenomenal rod."

Billy M. (5/5)

Scott Sector 8 wt

"When I first got the Scott Sector I could not decide if I liked it or not. Then I had my first experience with it on the flats in Belize. I love the rod! If anything, the rod casts to easy. I have to stop myself from muscling into the rod in the wind and for distance."

Marc (5/5)

8'4" Scott Sector 10wt

"The 8'4" Scott Sector 10wt is a phenomenal rod. A game changer. There is nothing out there that feels like it. I has become my go-to Permit rod. Light weight and very powerful. I think it casts better with slightly heavier lines, like the Grand Slam."

Thomas S. (5/5)

9wt Masterpiece

"The 9wt is one of my favorites. Loads of power but a very nice casting rod"

Thomas (5/5)

Scott Sector 8wt

"Absolutely love this rod! I love my NRX+ 7 and 9 wt rods and wanted to try the Scott. I like the grip and feel of the Sector a tad more. Swing weights are similar between the two as well. I need some more time with the Sector still, only fished with it twice so far. . . but I love it."

Adam T. (5/5)

Scott sector 7wt

"In my opinion, Scott rods are the best rods available and their 7wt rods are truly amazing. I have the sector and the centric 7wt. These rods launch streamers for large trout and also handle lighter bonefish tasks with ease. These are not cheap but worth the price."

Adam M. (5/5)

Scott Sector / Lamson / SA redfish line

"I was looking to add a second rod setup for fishing redfish in the Louisiana marsh. Jared upsold me from a more moderate priced rod to the Scott Sector 9’ 8 weight. It’s amazing. Lightweight and incredibly powerful with the SA redfish line. The Lamson Guru S is a great reel. Huge upgrade to my casting."

Stacey B. (5/5)

Scott Sector 8 wt

"beautiful rod! casts smoothly and effortlessly!"

Marc M. (5/5)

Scott Sector 11 WT

"I have only lawn casted it so far, but it has a great feel. I can’t wait to use it in Belize. Thanks Trident for your rod reviews."
