Sage has come out with a highly specialized rod for small water missions and tight-quarter casting. The Sage Dart is a fast-action, lightweight rod designed to encourage tight loops for optimal fly placement in heavy brush. Short rod lengths and specialty rod tapers help enthusiastic stream lovers to present small flies and light tippets to eager Trout that would otherwise be hard to reach. Whether you’re blue lining or ducking into a culvert, the Dart is a perfect rod for all small water applications.

Blank

KonneticHD Technology - Sage has completely redefined graphite technology with KonneticHD. By restructuring the graphite-to-resin ratio used in rod blanks, Sage has introduced a higher-density fiber composite that’s lighter, stronger, and more versatile on the water. With KonneticHD the Dart has incredibly efficient energy transfer capabilities, perfected rod stiffness, and element-defying durability. What does all this mean? Tighter loops, a smoother casting stroke, and superior accuracy.

Guides

Fuji Ceramic Stripping Guides - Fuji ceramic guides have stood the test of time as high-performance guides in fly fishing. Ceramic guides offer durability and easy line shooting capabilities.

Ultra-Light Hard Chromed Snake Guides - Snake guides decrease overall rod weight and provide industry-accepted functionality to the Dart. Snake guides also contribute to the rod’s superior line control capabilities and easy line speeds.

Reel Seat

Uplocking w/Vera Wood Insert - The reel seat of the Dart is aesthetically appealing and small water functional. A top-quality vera wood insert combines with an uplocking Bronze anodized aluminum component to maintain lightweight durability and anchor smaller, rod-specific fly reels in place.

Rod Tube

Powder Coated Aluminum Rod Tube - The Dart comes in a classic Portobello-colored powder-coated aluminum rod tube with the easily identifiable Sage medallion. The aluminum rod tube keeps the Dart safe during travel and time off of the water.

Warranty

The Sage Lifetime Warranty - As of January 2021, every new Sage rod, blank, and Sage reel is covered by a lifetime, original owner warranty. One of the finest warranties in the business, it covers defects in materials or workmanship as well as rods that fail due to misuse, negligence, or normal wear-and-tear. Repair fees are based on the age of the rod, and Sage charges a $30 processing fee for rods that are part of the current lineup. For up-to-the-minute warranty information, please contact Sage Repairs at 888-848-7243

Sage Dart 4wt

"Great rod, quality of rod makes up for my lack of casting skills. Smooth straight casts on target."

Sage Dart

"This Sage Dart 1wt is an awesome little rod. I put Rio Creek line and it works perfect. Great little stream rod."

Kenneth L. (5/5)

"I am really happy with the Dart rod. I have the 3 wt and 4 wt. I over line them both with double taper line. They load and cast great. Very accurate casting. I usually like a slower deep flexing rod but these are smooth casting rods. They are a fun alternative. Perfect for tight spaces and precise demanding casts."

Justin H. (5/5)

Very Pleased!

"I took my 2 weight out today to give it a “test drive”. It balanced perfectly with a Hardy 150th Anniversary Reel, loaded with a Rio Creek fly line. The rod loaded well at short distances and could also cast out to 30’ with accuracy. It is like a “feather” in hand, but is also a serious, high tech, fly rod. The finish is understated, and pleasing to the eye. I am very pleased with this purchase!"

Sage Dart 7’6 4 weight

"This rod is a scalpel in a world of hatchets. I have spent thousands of dollars trying to find a purpose built rod with small streams and tight loops in mind. This rod does it, fits my casting style perfectly and just flat out preforms. Paired with rio gold elite this rod is also beating my other rods in the distance category, sending weighted flies and small streamers quite a distance for a 7’6 rod. I put more fish in the net because of this rod. Beyond impressed, you have a customer for life."

Troutbum97 (5/5)

A surgical tool

"I own the 3wt, 7ft. 6in.This is the best small water, technical rod I have ever used. This rod has seen it all. NM. Gila Wilderness, CA. McCloud tributary water, WI. Driftless, CA. Goose Lake tributary water and other tight places...Where other rods feel clumsy, the Dart feels like a piece of surgical equipment."

Hunter (5/5)

Dart

"I used this rod in the Wisconsin driftless and it was great. Works on those narrow bushy creeks. A really nice looking rod to top it off. Cast like a dream."
